Sponsoring A Child

Today, while watching some Grey's Anatomy I decided that I wanted to sponsor a child. To be honest, this is something I have been wanting to do since highschool and why I have never done it, couldn't tell ya! Well while online tonight doing my "homework" I found a blog where a woman not only sponsors several differnent children she has her own kids sponsor kids as well. I like this idea for many reasons! I like the idea of kids getting to know kids from around the world and learning that every place is different and NOT every person grows up the same way with the same chances. Yes both of my kids are young but I want to go ahead and start now with my 5 year old. I think that for Christmas this is something that we are going to do. I want my kids to grow up knowing that NOT everyone gets the same chances and that people grow up having very different struggles. I want both of my girls to understand that they are VERY lucky to have the things that they have. When I get my packet with the info on my "kid" I will sit down with them and talk to them about it and see what they have to say and go from there. :)
